Minis rugby is a fantastic and fun game for U6 to U12 year olds. North Dorset RFC has a thriving Minis section, with over 200 children charging around the Slaughtergate fields on a Sunday morning.

The Mini section plays ‘Age Grade Rugby’ as outlined by the RFU’s Regulation 15. The emphasis is always about fun and introduces contact rugby at the appropriate time to enable all our child to participate in sport in a safe and encouraging manner.

We are a club focused on developing a community spirt, we are not about winning. We put out equal capability teams, normally two or three in each age group, so we can secure the Club’s success in the longer term.

We want to develop volunteers who are loyal to club over a lifetime. That starts here.

Players can start at 5 years old, but will not be able to play for the club in a match against other clubs until they are in the U7’s. This is an RFU stipulation.

When at home we start our sessions at 10.30am and aim to finish around 12 noon, every Sunday morning during the season. The season lasts from the first Sunday in September until the final Sunday in April.

We have a healthy fixture list, with games against clubs all over Dorset as well as Wiltshire and Somerset.

We conduct a fancy dress weekend rugby tour, normally from Friday evening to Sunday lunch time in Devon, as well as a festival in April.

Please come and join us on a Sunday morning, we’re always delighted to welcome new players and members.

Minis membership is £70 per season
